Becoming a Patient at Solutions Psychiatric Associates (Adult)

At Solutions we feel that a comprehensive evaluation including review of prior testing and previously completed evaluations is necessary in order to obtain the very best possible level of clarity in diagnosis. This clarity is critical in developing an effective treatment plan.  Our goal is to improve your quality of life and to help resolve issues that may be negatively impacting your functioning at home, school, and work.  All of our evaluations are headed by a psychiatrist who is an MD specializing in the evaluation and treatment of emotional, behavioral and psychiatric disorders.

The initial evaluation of an adult with the psychiatrist will consist of a ninety-minute appointment.  During this appointment, your doctor will obtain background information, a thorough medical history, and review all your current symptoms.  Your doctor will also administer any immediately needed diagnostic testing.  Your psychiatrist will then put all of the information together and review any available prior records.  He or she will prepare a report for you that includes a comprehensive diagnostic formulation and treatment plan.

Following the initial evaluation, your treatment plan will commence. Most indicated services are offered right here in the office at Solutions Psychiatric Associates.  In cases where outside referrals may be necessary, your doctor will assist you by providing referral information and contacting referral sources as needed.  Your doctor will coordinate all care.

At Solutions we offer only the very best care for our patients.  We do not cut corners and we do not attempt to treat our patients without first adequately and correctly diagnosing them.  An initial evaluation requires approximately 2-3 hours of our psychiatrist’s time, which includes the initial appointment as well as preparation for the report.  For our patients who feel uncomfortable about committing to a full evaluation without first getting to know us and the services we offer, our administrative staff is happy to schedule an initial one-hour consultation with either our psychiatrist or one of our psychologists.  Although we do not direct bill insurance, we do provide the paperwork you will need in order to request reimbursement from your insurance company for each appointment.  Most of our patients receive at least a portion of the costs incurred in reimbursement.

Please feel free to call us with further questions. We look forward to hearing from you and hope that we can be of service in the future.

Becoming a Patient at Solutions Psychiatric Associates (Ages 2 to 18)

At Solutions we feel that a comprehensive evaluation including review of prior testing and previously completed evaluations is necessary in order to obtain the very best possible level of clarity in diagnosis. This clarity is critical in developing an effective treatment plan. Our goal is to improve your child’s quality of life and to help resolve issues that may be negatively impacting his or her functioning at home and at school. All of our evaluations are headed by a child psychiatrist who is an MD specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric disorders.

Our initial evaluation with the child psychiatrist is done in four visits. The doctor will meet with parents for an hour first, followed by one hour with the child. The doctor will then order  testing she feels is indicated and your child will spend the third visit with the doctor or another pediatric professional completing the diagnostic testing depending on differential diagnoses being considered.   Additional scales and testing may be requested by the psychiatrist as indicated. The psychiatrist will then put all of the information together including reviewing any available previous testing and school records and then she will prepare a report for you that includes a full diagnostic impression and treatment plan. Finally the psychiatrist will meet with parents and review all the findings and the report and answer any questions you may have.

Following evaluation, your child’s treatment plan will commence. Most indicated services are offered right here in the office at Solutions. In cases where outside referrals may be necessary, your doctor will assist you by providing referral information and contacting referral sources as needed. Your doctor will coordinate all care.
